Product compliance & specifications

Model-specific information for a safe, suitable installation. A styled room is inspiration, not certification.

Identify the exact product

Match the name, SKU, model, variant and finish on your order with the goods and their documentation. Similar-looking fittings can have different dimensions, pressure requirements, electrical specifications or approvals. Check the item itself and its packaging when it arrives, and keep the labels and installation instructions.

Our campaign images include styled and AI-assisted scenes. These may show additional fittings, architectural finishes and accessories. They cannot establish an approval, water rating, installation clearance or product inclusion.

Water efficiency: WELS

The Water Efficiency Labelling and Standards scheme regulates specified water-using products. Where it applies, the relevant product must be registered and correctly labelled or advertised with the required water-efficiency information. Check the model’s star rating, water consumption and registration information, including any applicable conditions.

WELS obligations can apply to online advertising as well as sales. A general policy statement or a supplier’s logo does not replace model-specific information. If information appears missing or inconsistent, contact us before ordering so it can be checked and corrected. See the official WELS display requirements.

WaterMark and drinking-water suitability

WELS and WaterMark serve different purposes. Where WaterMark certification is required, confirm that the exact model is within the current certificate or listing and is suitable for the proposed use. The absence of a WELS rating on a product outside that scheme does not, by itself, decide whether WaterMark is required.

For products in contact with drinking water, ask your licensed plumber to confirm the applicable material and lead-free requirements for your installation, location and date. Do not rely on a generic “brass”, “lead-free” or overseas approval claim alone. Consult the ABCB guidance and current local requirements.

Electrical mirrors and powered products

For a powered mirror or other electrical item, check the voltage, connection method, location restrictions, manufacturer’s instructions and applicable Australian compliance information. Where required, evidence includes the Regulatory Compliance Mark and the relevant supplier or equipment registration.

A decorative bathroom scene does not establish that a powered item can be installed in a wet-area zone. A licensed electrician should confirm the placement and connection. Do not modify plugs, wiring or protective components. The EESS marking guidance explains the RCM.

Cabinetry, stone, basins and structural support

Confirm cabinet dimensions, fixing locations, wall construction, hardware, cut-outs and the combined weight of the cabinet, stone, basin and contents. Floating cabinetry and heavy stone require suitable support. Product weights and fixing methods should be checked against the actual substrate by the installer.

Kitchen and laundry references are not automatically complete installed packages. Confirm worktops, appliances, sinks, mixers, wastes, splashbacks, fillers and installation separately in the agreed inclusions. Do not assume that items pictured together have been tested as an assembled system.

Flooring and wet-area claims

Check the exact floor’s instructions for permitted rooms, substrate flatness, moisture testing, acclimatisation where required, expansion gaps, underlay and installation method. An assertion that a board is water-resistant or waterproof does not establish that the complete installed floor is a compliant wet-area waterproofing system.

Plan the correct pack quantity, cutting allowance, transitions and batch consistency. A calculator is an aid to estimating materials, not a site assessment. Have your installer verify the measured area and relevant building requirements before ordering or starting work.

Before installation

  • Check quantities, finish, visible condition and model details against your order.
  • Read the exact model’s installation and care instructions, including exclusions from the supplied parts.
  • Confirm required approvals and suitability with the appropriately licensed or qualified trade.
  • Resolve mismatches or missing documents with us before irreversible cutting, drilling or fixing.
  • Keep records of the approved specification and installation.

These checks support a safe installation. They do not transfer the seller’s product-compliance obligations to you or waive your consumer rights.

Requesting evidence or reporting a concern

Contact us with the product link, model, intended use and the document you need. Examples include the specification sheet, installation guide, WELS record, relevant certification, warranty document and care instructions. For a concern about an item already received, include your order number and a clear description of the discrepancy.

Stop using potentially unsafe goods. If there is immediate danger, seek emergency or qualified assistance. Follow any model-specific recall instructions and keep the item available for assessment where safe. A remedy for a faulty product is covered by our returns policy.
